“La restauración de ecosistemas ayuda a reducir los efectos del cambio climático”
Manuel Guariguata, investigador principal en temas de bosques y restauración del Centro para la Investigación Forestal (CIFOR) participa en el Global Landscapes Forum, que se desarrolla en Bonn – Alemania, entre el 19 y 20 de noviembre.
El especialista explicó a ConexiónCOP que la restauración de ecosistemas ayuda a reducir los efectos del cambio climático, porque la vegetación captura carbono. Señaló que cualquier actividad de restauración de bosques y paisajes se puede aplicar a objetivos específicos, entre ellos, mejorar la calidad del agua o cumplir una función social. Sostuvo además que uno de los principales retos de Latinoamérica en el contexto ambiental es el poco diálogo que existe entre instituciones. “Para planear actividades de restauración se necesita un enfoque multisectorial”, indicó.
