What is the YIL Forum

The YIL Forum is a half-day, digital event shaped by the YIL community and the GLF, aimed at:
  • Connecting like-minded young people, supporting knowledge-sharing and new collaborations;
  • Sharing actions taken by youth around the world  in restoration;
  • Increasing the skills and knowledge of young leaders concerning restoration for a sustainable climate as well as planetary and human health;
  • Launching ‘Generation Restoration’, the YIL and GLF youth supporting global ecosystem restoration efforts.

Why a Youth Forum

Young people around the world are increasingly taking action to create a healthier, more sustainable planet –a place where the people of today, and tomorrow, can stay healthy and thrive. A vital part of this process is the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration that begins in 2021. It will help stress the critically important link between restoring the Earth and the climate change crisis. This half-day YIL event is a great chance to highlight the synergies between restoration and youth action, and throw a spotlight onto young people around the world who are working to restore the land and contribute to a sustainable climate.
