Eirini is an environmentalist with a transdisciplinary academic background, holding a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Crete and an MSc in Environmental Sciences (with a focus on Environmental Policy and Sustainable Development Diplomacy) from Wageningen University & Research. She has also followed the Master’s Degree in Political Ecology, Degrowth and Environmental Justice at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Eirini has focused her MSc thesis on Indigenous Peoples’ rights and biodiversity governance and has been an active member of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, co-coordinating the Policy Working Group of the European Chapter. She is currently the Youth coordinator at the Global Landscapes Forum, supporting a global movement of young landscape leaders. Born and raised on the Mediterranean island of Crete, food is an important aspect of life for her, and she enjoys preparing vegan versions of traditional and modern recipes from her homeplace. Eirini is an avid reader and a vocal advocate for intersectionality and environmental justice.
