Amsterdam-based fiction and documentary maker. His short films Route du Soleil and Downward Facing Dogs premiered at the Dutch film festival before touring other festivals worldwide, winning things here and there. Karstens’ first documentary, Well Fed (57″ /2017), won several international awards and is still touring the festival circuit; Karsten wrote, produced, directed and hosted this documentary with Hidde Boersma. His second mid-length documentary, Sunday Kids (35″ / 2018) for VICELAND NL, aired in 2018. It reached a broad audience and got a lot of national attention. His stories provoke and search to challenge the status quo. Humor is at the core of everything Karsten does. Given his passion for music and storytelling, he has been asked for several music videos. He is also very passionate about creating short-format work. Karsten is developing his first feature film and working on a drama series. With his company Sugar Rush, they are in full force in developing relevant documentary content. He creates fiction and non-fiction work with his team for a worldwide audience.
