Ren Wang is the Special Advisor to the Chairman of BGI, the world’s largest genomics organization, primarily guiding the organization’s strategy and major initiatives in international cooperation and agriculture. Before his appointment at BGI, he served as Assistant Director General of FAO’s Agriculture and Consumer Protection Department, in Rome, Italy, between 2013 and 2018.
