Mrs. Mukasa has over 20 years of professional experience working with communities, coordinating and implementing research and development projects related to gender, forestry and environment conservation. She has experience in using participatory methodologies in data collection and stakeholder capacity-building. She has been the project leader for more than four action research projects in the past ten years using Adaptive Collaborative Management (ACM) and Participatory Prospective Analysis (PPA). These have been successfully implemented, with a major positive impact on communities, improving livelihoods in terms of gender equity, equitable benefit sharing and tenure security. These interventions have also improved community-managed natural resource conservation and reforestation of degraded landscapes, women’s empowerment and identification of viable opportunities for communities.  Mrs. Mukasa has been involved in analyzing and documenting findings from those action research projects, packaging them for users of various categories. She has co-authored information briefs, technical work and scientific papers. She is currently working as Program Manager for Forestry and Environment with the Association of Uganda Professional Women in Agriculture and Environment (AUPWAE), where she serves not only as an active member but also one of the pillars in fundraising for the association.  Before this, Mrs. Mukasa has served in several capacities in the field of natural resources and interacted with various development partners including: the Centre for International Forest Research, Africa Adapt, the McKnight Foundation, and UNHCR Uganda Forestry Working Group.
