Volker Schlöndorff is the internationally acclaimed director of films such as <em>The Tin Drum</em>, <em>Swann in Love</em>, <em>Death of a Salesman</em>, <em>The Handmaid’s Tale</em>, <em>Homo Faber/Voyager</em>, <em>The Ninth Day</em>, <em>Diplomacy</em> and <em>Return to Montauk</em>. His work has been recognized with both the Palm d’or at the Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Award. He has just finished his first feature length documentary <em>The Forest Maker</em> on agroforestry in the Sahel and the work of Right Livelihood Award Winner Tony Rinaudo.
