Raised in one of the most severely deforested states of Mexico, Sabine has dedicated her career to understanding the ecological impacts of deforestation and its complex socioeconomic roots. As a landscape ecology PhD candidate (National Autonomous University of Mexico) and conservationist, she focuses her research on how to manage anthropogenic landscapes so that they allow biodiversity to thrive, while simultaneously allowing people to have livelihood from the sustainable use of their land.
