Walter Mwachande is working as Coordinator at Action for Environmental Sustainability (AfES)- Malawi and is directly managing the UTZ Landscape Management in the Smallholder Tea Sector project in Mulanje and Thyolo Districts in the Southern region of Malawi.
Walter has more than 20 years of experience working with smallholder famers in Malawi. In his career, he has managed various positions including, food security coordinator for World Vision international in 3 Districts, food security coordinator for Development Aid from People to People (Agriculture Sector Wide approach project) in 3 Districts and also served as a Research Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security under the Malawi government where he was overseeing agricultural farming systems in all Districts and regions of Malawi. Walter holds a BSc in Rural development and a Diploma in Agriculture.
