Dr. Nindi is an Institutional Team Leader for the Sustainable Rangeland Management project (SRMP) which champions joint village land use planning and landscape approaches for rangeland restoration. He has also been engaged in reviews and dialogues on legislations and policies for administration of land-based resources in Tanzania. He holds a PhD in Political Ecology from Kyoto University, Japan and an MSc degree in Agricultural Engineering (Land Use Planning and Water Management Studies) from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. He has a BA-Hons degree in Land Use Planning & Environmental Studies from University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He has worked with Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI) as Principal Research Officer and at Sokoine University of Agriculture Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SCSRD) as Head of Resources Management Section.

He is a member to various steering committees and a task force member for the Restoration of the Great Ruaha River Basin. He is also a facilitator of the Multi-Stakeholders Platform for an Integrated Kilombero Landscape Management. Dr. Nindi has outstanding experience working in multi-stakeholder, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams and has served leading roles on various independent and collaborative research and consultancy teams focusing on; sustainable land resources management, agricultural and rural development, environmental management, climate change adaptations and food security, ecosystems and biodiversity conservation, wildlife management and impact studies on livelihoods programmes. He has taught at university level, researched, published in peer reviewed journals and presented on various topics at national and international forums.
