Judy Matu

National Chairperson

Judy Matu is involved in diverse capacity building initiatives to strengthen the livelihoods and agency of smallholder women farmers, as well as vulnerable urban residents. Among other national initiatives, she led the Women in Food Systems Independent Dialogue in the lead up to the UN Food Systems Summit. At global level, Judy participates in the steering committees of the Swedish International Agricultural Network, as well as the UN Women/FAO programme on Economic Empowerment of Women through Climate-Smart Agriculture. Judy contributes to diverse global networks, including Women Engage for a Common Future and has been recognized by the UNFCCC for her work in inspiring engagement in gender-responsive climate action.
