Silvia Abruscato is a junior researcher in the Resilience Programme of the European Forest Institute. She has a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from both the University of Copenhagen and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna. Her academic research focused on the conservation and management of forest landscapes in Europe. Her main research interests focus on the integration of nature protection and environmental policy gaps. She is driven by enhancing her experience on the science-practice-society interface to facilitate community engagement during decision-making processes. Silvia is a youth leader and active member of the International Forestry Students’ Association, where she acted as Head of the Capacity Development Commission. She has led several student delegations during international conferences (e.g. UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn) and she was master of ceremony during the Global Landscape Forum 2017.
