Dr Nur Bahar is a plant biologist by training. She studied leaves, their carbon exchanges and metabolism during her doctorate research in Australia. En route to home, she made short transit at the Center for International Forestry Research, Indonesia as a consultant on global food security: impact on forests and jurisdictional approach to low emission development. She also co-convened a Functional Ecology field course jointly offered by Australian National University and Nanyang Technological University, which took place in Singapore and Malaysia. Currently, she works at Tropical Rainforest Conservation and Research Center and coordinates forest conservation and restoration initiatives with local communities in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak. She inspires to safeguard tropical rain forest while enjoying good things in life especially good company and delicious food.
