Daniel is a policy advisor on forest conservation and sustainable management of forests, wilderness and ecosystem restoration at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment. He works on national and international forest policy including Germany’s first large-scale payments for forest ecosystem services scheme, the European Union’s regulation on deforestation-free supply chains for agricultural commodities, and Forest Landscape Restoration with a geographic focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. Daniel graduated from the University of Oxford, where he carried out award-winning work on blockchain-based forest management.
