Horst Freiberg is responsible for all national and international forest related issues on climate change and biodiversity in the BMUB. He holds a PhD in Forestry Science. He gained his experience in several forest related issues predominantly in Germany and South America, where he made first steps and experiments on “Forest Restoration” developing the “Double Pre-Forest Concept”. He was coordinator of the “European Tropical Forest Research Network” (ETFRN) and worked as Lead Expert of the European Union and coordinator of the German CHM initiating the “Green Wave” global action under the CBD.
