Emília Santos is a brazilian visual artist with a Master’s degree in multimedia from the University of Campinas (Unicamp) and a Bachelor’s degree in visual arts from the Belas Artes University in São Paulo. Besides holding exhibitions, her artwork has been published in magazine covers (most recently in the cover of Pagu magazine) and books (like “Afrodisíaca”, a collaboration with Iara Rennó). In her work, Emília explores the intersection between materials and genres in painting, as well as the combination of figurative and abstract. Her current painting series “AFOGADA” is an expression of marine scenes that evoke the feeling of submersion.
