This photo was taken during fieldwork in a village in Madagascar. People are very poor and landscapes are threatened by landconversion for agricultural reasons. Water is usually a limiting factor. The kids playing in a dirty pond showed a sad but beautiful contrast of landscape and human interactions in a sundown light.
