Mangroves are fascinating tropical forests connecting land and sea, and are one of the most biologically diverse marine habitats. Being aware that up to half of all mangroves in the world have been lost in the last few decades, I was happy to meet a small community in Watamu, Kenya, who work for the conservation and protection of the mangrove thanks to a restaurant in the mangrove itself.
