Juan Ardila is a Scientist at the Earth Innovation Institute and holds an MS and a PhD in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation from the University of Twente, the Netherlands. He has worked for the Alternative Development project in Vienna, Laos and Colombia for the United Nations Office on Drugs and also worked in the private sector in GIS/Remote Sensing in the Netherlands. His interest is in applying geoinformation science, remote sensing and spatial databases to understand real world problems. He has led the development of jurisdictional monitoring systems at EII.
