Dr Elizabeth Philip is the Head of Climate Change and Forestry Programme in Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). During her 24 years tenure, she has spearheaded more than ten projects dealing from plant resources documentation, arboriculture, environmental and forestry issues. She is a Plant Physiologist and specializes in environmental physiology.

She is directly involved in the preparations of the National Communications and Biennial Update Report to UNFCCC. In addition, she is also charged with developing the National REDD+ Strategy and coordinates the national initiatives. She is also a certified arborist by the International Society for Arboriculture (ISA).

Dr Philip has actively participated in many discussions relating to climate change, biodiversity and arboriculture both at home and abroad. She sits in a number of national, regional and international technical committees. 



The awe of the natural ecosystem is close to her heart. In her growing years, she observed the beauty through her lifelong Mentor and decides to keep it at its best. Her passion is to understand the links between environment and the interactions with ecological functions. The potential impacts of climate change on forest and natural ecosystems are of concern to her and she endeavors to synthesis this complex subject matter into simple understanding so that nature is preserved at its best.
