Danae is the senior policy and technical advisor for the Climate and Forest Team in Asia-Pacific, overseeing the portfolio and leading the regional team. She supports governments to develop and implement national REDD+ strategies, investment frameworks and leverage innovative climate finance. Currently her focal countries include Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Mongolia and Bangladesh. Within the Climate and Forest team, she also has a global function on technical REDD+ aspects related to Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as well as policy and partnership advice. She manages the partnership her team has with the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea (IMELS) as well as the partnership with the European Forest Institute REDD+ facility.
Danae has also worked in Central and West Africa for several years. She holds a doctoral degree in Geography from the University of Oxford and has published numerous articles in her field. When she isn’t working, Danae can usually be found hiking somewhere in nature or swimming in an ocean, enjoying the company of friends and taking pictures.
