Dionéia graduated from the Federal University of Amazonas (Economics), and was the manager of the Igapó Açu Sustainable Development Reserve from 2010-2018. She has been one of the leaders of the AmazonTransdisciplinary Network (RETA), an important collaborative effort combining community groups, grassroots social movements, NGOs and governmental actors working towards socio-environmental balance in the region of the BR-319 Highway.
