An agronomist graduated from UnB (University of Brasília) with a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University. He served as Vice President for Development at CI (Conservation International) in the Americas division; Founder and Director of Brasil Florestas; Coordinator of Private Sector Relations at the World Bank in the Pilot Program for Tropical Forests; Director at A2R Environmental Funds; and Director at Instituto IBio (BioAtlântica) and Imazon. Since 2015, he has been the Executive Director of IPAM (Amazon Environmental Research Institute), a research institute focused on sustainable development in the Amazon and Cerrado regions.
