Nifesimi Ogunkua currently works with the FAO as a Climate Change and GEF Portfolio Support Specialist for the Africa Region. She leads the development and implementation of a broad portfolio in thematic areas of environment, climate change and financing, biodiversity, and sustainable natural resource management in Nigeria.
She has led project development and management for various donors, including the GEF, GCF, Adaptation Fund, and other bilateral donors. Additionally, she serves as the lead focal point for Nigeria’s GEF-7 Food Systems, Land Use, and Restoration IP, as well as the Project Preparation Phase for GEF-8 Food Systems IP.
