Paula Guimarães is Head of Forest Certification and Conservation at The Navigator Company, where she works for over 20 years. She has extensive experience in developing and implementing corporative approaches on forest sustainability, responsible forest management and certification, bridging with Portucel Mozambique, and participates in the company’s Environmental Council.
Paula is also the Company’s representative in national and international FSC® and PEFC certification initiatives, as well as in different platforms on environment, stakeholder engagement and forest sustainability issues. She represents Navigator in WWF’s New Generation Plantations platform, where she is a member of the Advisory Group, The Forests Dialogue (as member of the Steering Committee), the Certification network of CEPI (Confederation of the European Pulp and Paper Industries) and the Portuguese Standardization Body for Sustainable Forest Management (Technical Committee 145).
Paula holds an MSc in Forestry, from the Lisbon Technical University, and complementary training in sustainability, management, leadership and negotiation.
