Workwoha Mekonnen is a sociologist and gender specialist by profession. She has over 35 years of experience working with the government of Ethiopia, national and international NGOs, bilateral organization, as well as international consulting and management companies. Her competence areas focus on social development and gender issues that include gender planning and gender mainstreaming, gender analysis and research, women land rights and women economic empowerment, participatory project planning and management, participatory development approaches, community development and community empowerment. She has good experience in designing and conducting qualitative research. She has particular experience in gender analysis and planning for sectors such as Agriculture, Land, Water, and Food Security. She has a very strong experience of linking policy and practice.
