Vorsak Bou

Cambodia Programme Manager
BirdLife International – Cambodia Programme

“I am conservation leader with more than 10 years experience as head of the BirdLife in Cambodia. With my team, I have successfully set up ground-breaking  protected areas, co-designed landscape management plans and  led advocacy work for endangered species  across Cambodia. One of my proudest achievements is the new policy to ban the use and import of dangerous medicines which harm critically endangered vultures – this is a key steppingstone towards protecting biodiversity in Cambodia. With support from the BirdLife Accelerator programme, I and my team are working to ensure the Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary is sustainably managed and funded, so that we can maintain its global biodiversity value and contribute to local livelihoods.”
