Inna Modja is a Malian musician who blends hip hop, Motown soul and Blues in a unique combination that speaks to her roots in the Sahel. Her lyrical music tells the traditional tales of Mali and Modja speaks out strongly against the civil war which has simmered in the African nation since 2012. Her work has been nominated for a Victoires de la Musique award, an annual French music ceremony.
