Galizon has a strong interest in clean and sustainable energy, particularly in how it relates to small island developing states. He previously worked as an Energy Officer at Nauru’s Department of Climate Change, where he gained practical experience working on energy data, national reporting, and technical systems. That experience deepened his curiosity about the energy-climate connection and made him more aware of how vulnerable island nations like Nauru are to rising seas, limited resources, and global environmental shifts. As part of the Youth Negotiators Academy, Galizon is developing the tools to better understand international climate and energy discussions, with the hope of applying that knowledge to practical, meaningful change for small island communities like his.
