Emelyne Cheney

Emelyne Cheney has for the last 10 years worked towards real world solutions to address the rapid disappearance of tropical forests. She joined the UN Environment Programme in 2014, first as the REDD+ coordinator for Congo Basin countries, and now as a team leader and advisor on forest and climate change in Asia Pacific. Prior, she worked for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations as an expert on REDD+ governance and built a global portfolio of projects related to social and environmental safeguards, land tenure, legal preparedness and governance assessments.
