Prior to his current position at FAO, Dr. Akinnifesi served as Chief of the South-South Cooperation team. At the World Agroforestry Center based in Malawi, Dr. Akinnifesi served as the Regional Coordinator and Principal Scientist; and the Country Director. He was a visiting Professor and Visiting Researcher at the Universidade Estadual do Maranhao for 2 years and an Agroforester and Soil Scientist at the Geomatics International in Nigeria.
