Caroline van Leenders is transition manager at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and works for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. For over 20 years she has been working successfully on systemic change, earlier on the issues of food and energy, but lately primarily on biodiversity. Most recently, her focus lays in greening the financial system.
To initiate change it is necessary to bring people together. Therefore, Caroline works by forming Communities of Practice in which first movers come together and share their insights. In the meantime, she helps to move the issue forward by granting it a stage. For example, Caroline wrote a book Finance for one planet on Natural Capital. Furthermore, she supported research on Positive Impacts of Financial Institutions on Biodiversity.
