Carina van der Laan is working as an independent advisor and researcher on various projects together with SNV and other organizations in Indonesia. The projects she works on focus on the sustainable development of agriculture, improvement of farming practices and livelihoods of small-scale farmers, and the conservation of tropical forests at the landscape level. She recently finished her PhD on the same subjects, focused on East Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo.
SNV collaborates strongly with a variety of stakeholders to enhance the livelihoods of smallholders and enhance environmentally friendly practices, from West to Eastern Indonesia. Stakeholders include supply chain actors, private companies, local NGOs, research institutions and Government agencies.
