Jamie Walker is Community and Strategy Coordinator at RE-PEAT. He has been involved in varying capacities with RE-PEAT since 2020. In the meantime, he completed an integrated Master’s degree in Biology at the University of Oxford – where he researched the interactive effect of warming and nutrient pollution on peatlands. While a student, he also wrote and directed an outdoor play – “Enclosure” – about nature conservation and land rights. Now a core member of RE-PEAT, he’s currently helping to draft their organisational strategy. He’s also leading on the evolution of Peat-Fest, taking it out of the online realm and envisioning a series of ‘Upwellings’ of peatland celebration, learning and community building dispersed across space and time.
