Katherine has a background in project finance, renewable energy and international law (First Class Hons). Before joining SYSTEMIQ, Katherine was part of the inaugural Edinburgh Climate Change Conference, supported Climate Policy Watch at COP21 and COP22, launched the Women’s Speed Mentoring initiative, provided pro bono legal advice to the Refugee Civil Law Clinic and participated in the International Peace and Security Institute’s Symposium on Post-Conflict Transitions in The Hague.

Katherine joined SYSTEMIQ because she believes that tackling the world’s social and environmental problems is only possible by taking a systemic approach which brings together the entire “ecosystem” of stakeholders across economic, scientific, political, commercial, geographical, cultural and social boundaries.

Since joining, Katherine has been involved in a number of things including COP23 briefings and a circular economy strategy for a plastic packaging company. She is now part of the Blended Finance Task Force, which aims to facilitate the leveraging of billions of development funding to mobilise trillions of dollars of private capital to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals.
