Vice Chairperson and Co-Founder of the NGO Cities Without Hunger Germany, Alice Bischof represents and promotes the work of the Brazilian NGO Cities Without Hunger (CIDADES SEM FOME) internationally. Alice Bischof holds a Master’s degree in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Humboldt University Berlin. Her interest in a sustainable transformation of the food system lead her to exploring urban agriculture as a promising contribution to solving today’s socioeconomic and environmental problems.

In 2014, she conducted a research project on urban agriculture at the University of São Paulo, and initiated her work for the Brazilian NGO Cities Without Hunger. Back in Germany, she founded Cities Without Hunger Germany with her colleague Esther K. Beuth-Heyer in 2015. Bischof’s relation to Brazil dates back to 2011, when she volunteered as speech therapist and English teacher at an educational centre in Timbaúba in Pernambuco.
