Dr Joanna Durbin leads the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA), a partnership of non-governmental organizations that develops standards, tools, safeguards, information systems, and policy and governance assessments to facilitate support and finance for land management activities that credibly generate benefits for the global climate, local communities and biodiversity. This work has included leading multi-NGO initiatives to develop a Sustainable Landscapes Rating Tool for assessment of jurisdictional policies and governance, and to develop social and environmental standards for REDD+ at jurisdictional and project levels. She has over twenty-five years’ experience facilitating community-led development, multi-stakeholder processes and good governance for effective biodiversity conservation and sustainable development including in Madagascar, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Liberia, Indonesia, Nepal, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Mexico.
