Global Landscapes Forum Bonn 2017: As it happened
On Dec 19-20, the Global Landscapes Forum brought together 1000 attendees from 103 countries in the World Conference Center in Bonn. In total, 21,610,513 people were reached across social media and fully 51,000 people tuned in live from 114 different countries to connect, learn, share and act around our planet’s greatest climate and development challenges. The very body that we carry is just an outcrop of this planet, so there is no good life without a good planet.
There is no trade-off between sustainability and profitable growth.
This is a movement worth building.
Protecting forests means protecting mankind and protecting mankind means protecting forests we are in symbiosis
The world belatedly has discovered the power of soil, the power of forests, and the power of nature. I see clearly that the restoration and landscape approach has been gaining momentum.
Restoring ecosystems and ecosystem services will come with economic and social benefits at the local and national level.
We are all stakeholders in the problems we address.
Our small contributions in our different communities, when added up, constitute global change
