Sigit Sasmito studies mangrove ecosystem management functions at the Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods, Charles Darwin University and the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR). He specializes in tropical mangrove ecology, blue carbon, mangroves and climate change mitigation and adaptation, and mangrove ecosystem functions under human-induced disturbance and climate change.
