Marcos Montoiro is the NGO and civil society liaison officer of the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). He has been working with the UNCCD secretariat for the last 20 years in different areas ranging from external relations, to public information, knowledge management or the implementation of the Convention in Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition to supporting the engagement of non-state actors at the UNCCD, he is leading the work on Land Tenure within the Secretariat. Marcos is a lawyer from Spain that also holds a Master’s Degree on Social and Cultural Anthropology.
