At IDH, Winnie is leading the Initiative for Sustainable Landscapes (ISLA) Kenya Program, coordinating the Tea Program across East Africa and chairing the Gender Empowerment Platform initiated by IDH and partners. Winnie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and a Masters’ degree in International Business Administration. She has over 25 years’ experience in agri-business, sustainable development and project management extending from managing a large-scale cut-flower farm to developing and scaling up sustainable agriculture systems among large and smallholder farmers in the East and Southern Africa. Having worked with multinational companies, NGO’s and certification bodies, she has a wealth of expertise in resource mobilisation, commodity value chain development, developing and implementing sustainable farming models that address market requirements, productivity, environmental resource management, social best practices and value chain finance.
