Vianny Ahimbisibwe (MSc), from Uganda, is currently working as a research scientist, policy adviser and Landuse potentials and ecosystem Service Restoration in Africa (FLESRA) project coordinator at the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics in Hamburg, Germany. He is also pursuing a PhD with the Technical University of Munich. His PhD, and his work is mainly focused on the restoration of forest land use potential and ecosystem services in Africa. As a forester, his interests are to understand the effect of both socio-economic and governance dynamics on the success and failure of forest restoration initiatives across scales towards co-creating effective and efficient forest landscape restoration (FLR) concepts in Africa.
