Tomo Kumahira is the Director of Corporate Finance at Komaza, managing the company’s financial strategies and management directly under the CEO. He joined Komaza in the transition from NGO to for-profit and built the Corporate Finance Department with experienced private equity/banking professionals to manage fundraising, financial analysis, expansion strategy, grant management, and partnerships in a rapidly growing venture company. Tomo led the concept development of the Smallholder Forestry Vehicle, world’s first blended financing instrument to scale smallholder forestry, winning Climate Policy Initiative’s Global Lab Award for Innovative Climate Finance Idea. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Keio University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brown University.
