Dr. Nindi is a Political Ecologist, who before joining the Tanzania’s Planning Commission, worked as principal researcher for the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI). He worked for over ten years with Sokoine University of Agriculture Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SCSRD) to a Senior Research Officer level. He also worked with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) as Regional Scientist and as Visiting Associate Professor at Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies (ASAFAS), Kyoto University and served several times as Visiting Scientist at ASAFAS. He has over fourteen years of experience in collaborative research on resource management. He has implemented several collaborative projects within and outside Tanzania such as the Miombo Woodland Integrated Agro-ecological Research Project, Conservation Research for East Africa’s Threatened Ecosystems (CREATE) Project, Use of Indigenous and Scientific Knowledge Systems on Seasonal Climate Forecasting for Enhancing Community Adaptation to Climate Variability, Approaches to Sustainable Rural Development and Integrating Dairy Goat and Root Crop Production for Increasing Food, Nutrition and Income Security of Smallholder Farmers in Tanzania among many. He has made several presentations forums and published in various journals.
