Management engineer by training, Stéphane began his career in Brussels in an industrial services company. He then spent 10 years in the banking sector in Luxembourg. In 2012, he was a founding member of a citizens’ cooperative producing electricity via a 3MW wind turbine and became a director from 2014 to 2022. In 2016, he did a Master’s degree in Environmental Management at the University of Liège, Belgium. In 2017, he left the world of finance to join Friendship Luxembourg as Manager Operations & Partnerships.At Friendship, Stéphane supports in particular the climate adaptation programme and the mangroves restoration programme. He has been closely involved in the entire mangroves afforestation project, from the very first pilot project funded by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity of Luxembourg, which he submitted for funding. Since then, he has followed and supported all mangrove-related projects, including in terms of reporting, monitoring and advocacy with donors. He also helped to set up the Blue Mangrove Fund and keeps the register of donors and the allocation of their donations to the planted areas.
