Sonny Mumbunan

Sonny Mumbunan is a Senior Economist at the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Indonesia where he coordinates work for the New Climate Economy (NCE), Food and Land Use Economy (FOLU) and the Low Carbon Development Initiative (LCDI) for Indonesia. He is also an Economic Researcher at the University of Indonesia’s Research Center for Climate Change (RCCC UI).

In his past roles, he had served as a policy advisor in Indonesia with the President’s Unit for development monitoring and oversight (UKP4) as well as the executive office of the President (KSP) on sustainable development, green economy, and development data. In this capacity, he was a negotiator for Indonesia for the UN SDGs and was the lead author of the Blue Print for One Data Indonesia. He has also worked as a consultant for UN agencies and the World Bank. Sonny is an elected member of Indonesia Young Academy of Scientists (ALMI).
