Sandra Berman is supporting the Amazon Sustainable Landscapes (ASL) Program funded by the GEF and led by the World Bank team. She works on the implementation of the ASL Regional project, as well as on the performance of the Brazil national project. She has experience on topics related to improving the management of protected areas, encouraging sustainable value chains for standing forests and flowing rivers, including tourism and forest restoration, and stakeholder engagement. She is an agricultural engineer from AgroParisTech (France) with a Master in Ecology (France) and an LLM in Environmental Law and Policies from the University of Kent in Canterbury (UK) with extensive experience in working at the science-policy interface on biodiversity and environmental issues. She lived in Brazil for almost four years and speaks French, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
