She currently manages the East Africa, Horn of Africa, and Great Lakes daily news and next day news agenda for the BBC, besides deploying teams to breaking news situations and or for long form digital story telling. Her expertise extends beyond her role at the BBC. As the Vice President of the Kenya Editors Guild and a member of Global Women in News (GWIN), Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK), and Inspired Women Lead (IWL), she actively shapes the future of journalism and advocates for gender equality in the field. With an impressive background that includes previous work at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and the Nation Media Group, Ruth possesses over 20 years of invaluable experience in the international and local media industry.
