Dr. Reza Azmi is the Founder and Director of Wild Asia, a Malaysia-based environmental and social enterprise established in 2003. He holds a PhD in Taxonomy and Ecology and has over two decades of experience in sustainable natural resource management. Dr. Azmi pioneered the Wild Asia Group Scheme (WAGS), one of the world’s first RSPO group schemes, which now covers 35,000 hectares of independent oil palm production. He also leads the SPIRAL program, a global initiative supporting small producer inclusivity and resilience through partnerships with major FMCGs and value-chain actors. His current work focuses on scaling regenerative agriculture to improve soil health and combat climate change. Dr. Azmi has served on the boards of MSPO (Malaysian National standard for palm oil), and continues on FONAP (German Alliance for Sustainable Palm Oil), and the Sustainable Agriculture Network.
