Raymond has a PhD in International Environment and Development Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. His research focused on governance of natural resources and REDD+ programs in the Congo Basin. Raymond conducted field research on the impacts of conservation and development interventions on local peoples’ rights, access to forests, local participation, and benefit sharing. In addition to other consultancies for international organizations, Raymond was the principal researcher for the Responsive Forest Governance Initiative.
